Eller, 76, dies in Kingsport

David Herbert “Herb” Eller, 76, of Jenkins, died May 18 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn., after a short illness.

Born in Clintwood, Va., he was a son of the late D.J. and Mary Eller. He was a brother of the late Smith Eller and Buford Eller.

Eller was retired from National Mine Services Company in 1993. He continued to work for CAM Mining until last month. He was a corporal with the Medical Corps in the U.S. Army at Ft. Sam Houston, Tex., during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Katey Eller; a daughter, Gail Briggs and husband Richard, Jenkins; a son, Eric Eller and wife Roberta, Inez; four grandchildren, Makayla Briggs, Lexie Eller, Brody Eller, and Justin Eller; and a sister, Ruth Molagridia, Crab Orchard, W.Va.
