Emil Eldridge, 75, dies at Somerset




Emil Eldridge, 75, died October 31 at his home at Somerset.

A Blackey native, he was a son of the late Henry and Lucinda Fields Eldridge. He was the father of the late Frieda Pruitt, and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Arthur Eldridge, Carl Eldridge, Elmer Eldridge, Raymond Eldridge, and Drew Eldridge, and two sisters, Eva Leach and Leona Eldridge.

Eldridge was retired from Southern Molding in Frankfort, and was a member of the Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Day Eldridge; two sons, Harold Eldridge, Somerset, and Kenneth Eldridge and wife Patricia, Bronston; a daughter, Barbara Renee Eldridge, Bronston; a brother, Hubert Eldridge, Blackey; three sisters, Betty Sue Williams, Shelbyville, Ind.; Stella Shelton, Crab Orchard; and Arlie Simpson, Waynesburg; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and 10 stepgreat grandchildren.

Funeral services were held November 3 in Waynesburg. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery.
