Greetings and best wishes for a prosperous, happy, healthy New Year. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and that Santa brought everything you wanted, especially for the little ones.
We had our family get together the 20th. All the family were here except Steve, Lisa, Joshua and David. Steve and David were both on the road but Steven got in at 2 in the morning and he and Lisa and Joshua stopped by. David was to be in on the 28th, so we’ll be having Christmas all the way through the New Year.
Got my Holiday Barbie for 2009, also got $100 in gift certificates to our favorite restaurants and one of our favorite stores to shop, Marc’s. Right now I can’t remember all the other goodies I got but will mention them later.
I have no idea how we will spend Christmas Day but today, Christmas Eve, we have received calls from Red’s brother, Charles, and niece Carleta Adams. Red’s niece Frances also called. They have moved Nina to Letcher Manor in Whitesburg from Pikeville, she’s not doing very well at all.
We also received calls from my sister Jeanie and my niece Christy and other local family, and a call from our grandson David. He was in Arizona. Catharine and Jeremy were going to Columbus to spend Christmas with his mother, sister and her family.
I saw my surgeon. They took x-rays with cast and put on a new cast. I go back in two weeks for x-rays without the cast, and then they’ll decide what to do from there. Still have pretty much pain.
I want to thank everyone for all the nice get well and Christmas cards I’ve received. And to my special angel in Sterling, Va., thank you so much for all the goodies we received. And don’t tell me there aren’t angels because I have firsthand knowledge of it. She has got to be one of the most loving, giving people anyone would want to know. Also, thank you to Bobby Joe and Madonna Pass for the CD’s. We’ve played them all day and are really enjoying them. Soon as I can use my arm I will write you a long letter or I may just dictate to my secretary as I am now. Stay well, stay happy and have a blessed New Year.
Red is not doing well, but wants to wait on me hand and foot. Some things I can do left-handed. I feel like I’m a bother to everyone. But this too will end.
I will keep you informed on how things are going, as long as I have a secretary to dictate to. Wishing you well, love and prayers.
