Engles give up gardening

Northeast Ohio

Howdy friends and neighbors, can you believe another week has come and gone? And a quiet one it has been, so there’s not a whole lot to write about. Of course there’s always the weather, and it’s good for a few lines anyway.

Red and I are both doing fairly well. Some days are better than others.

Took time out to mix a cake and put in oven. I’ve got a yen for a slice of hot cake and a cup of coffee. We usually eat more that way than frosted.

Talked to Georgia this morning, and she said she and Richard would most likely stop by.

Have talked to Jeanie, Carleta and good friends our girl Liz and dear friend Clara Pfister and Red talked to his brother, Charles. May have talked to others but my memory isn’t what it used to be. Oops, I just remembered getting a call from my cousin Denver Profitt in Michigan.

I’ve got to send a big thank you to Mildred. She sent me some books and once I start reading one, I don’t want to stop until I finish it. These are written by writers I never heard about but now I’m one devoted fan.

Bill and Redia have appointments with three different doctors at the clinic. I really don’t envy them. I do not lie, going into Cleveland traffic is a nightmare.

I’ve give up on having a garden, ain’t no way I can and it’s pretty late to even think about. Too many fresh vegetable stands close by anyway.

I still have beans in the freezer but will have to buy tomatoes. They’re good on sandwiches, in salads, with scrambled eggs and especially good with biscuits and gravy. How many have tried it?

This weekend is church time at Little Edna here in Lorain and I’m hoping Red and I will feel up to going. It’s been way too long since we were able to attend.

Miss Catt just came in and Richard and Georgia are here so I’m going to have to call it a day for now but see you next week. In the meantime have a great week. Love and prayers to all.
