A 28-year-old Eolia man has pleaded guilty to robbing two Virginia convenience stores last fall.
Jonathan Dean Adams entered a guilty plea in Wise County Circuit Court on Oct. 16 and was sentenced the same day.
“I must serve 15 years at 85 percent with an additional 20 years of probation once released,” wrote Adams in a letter to The Mountain Eagle.
Money, cigarettes and other merchandise were stolen Sept. 16, 2012 from State Line Food Mart and Double Kwik, both located in Pound, Va. In both instances Adams brandished a weapon and took items, some of which were recovered.
“I was sentenced to nine years for the State Line Food Mart robbery and three years (for using a firearm in the commission of ) a felony,” wrote Adams. “I was sentenced to 25 years for robbing the Marathon, plus three years for using a firearm in that felony. All sentences are to be served consecutively for a total of 40 years with 25 suspended.”
