I guess I’d better let you know what we at Ermine Center did last week.
Monday we had a quiet day, then on Tuesday we had some wonderful people who came from Brandenburg to visit our center. They were Rev. Guy and Dee Cornell and daughter Jennifer. Mr. Cornell is the pastor at Salem Baptist Church. Their church group came to help at “God’s Love in a Diaper Bag” for a week at Jenkins.
Mrs. Cornell led us in some beautiful singing. They told us a lot about themselves, held prayer, then did some Bible reading and talked. We just had a wonderful day with them.
Thursday was our prom. Yes, it was put back on and was held at Boone Fork Center at Fleming-Neon. There were probably more than 100 seniors there, a great crowd. We had the crowning of King and Queen from each center. Rhuford and Coleen Hart were ours from Ermine Center. The food was great and everyone was having a good time, even S. T. Wright. He did some dancing with some of the seniors.
There were lots of dancers on the floor, including a 90-year-old lady who was dancing and having a good time. Nope, don’t ask. I don’t dance. The Cornell family went with us, and they really enjoyed themselves. We had all kinds of good food and had a great day. We had 28 seniors to attend and six workers.
Thursday we are going on a shopping trip (we hope) to Hazard, and will be eating at the Ponderosa restaurant. We’re looking forward to that. On June 21 we are having a picnic at Fishpond Lake. So you seniors who don’t have anywhere to go, come and go with us on our trips. We will have a great time, as we always do. That’s as far as we have outings planned for right now, but we will be working on others soon.
As you all know we like to go, go, go! Come out and visit with us. If you do, you’ll surely come back.
Be good and stay pretty. God bless until next time.
