Ermine seniors ride in Christmas parade

Ermine Senior Citizens has a lot planned for the rest of this month.

Tuesday, Marie Maggard and Stacy Dollarhide, ladies from Faith Moves Mountains, were there with us. We did exercises and they fixed us a good snack. We have two more weeks, then we will be through and then it’s graduation time.

Friday, we rode the van in the parade at Whitesburg.

Dec. 17, we will be going to Bristol to see the lights.

Dec. 21 is our Christmas party and potluck dinner. We will be exchanging gifts. So you ladies bring a lady’s gift and you men bring a man’s gift. We always have a great time at our Christmas party. Also all our other parties.

Thursday, our visitors were David Craft from Michigan and also Pauline Campbell from Blackey. Pauline brought us a pineapple nut cake and it was really good. You’ll spoil us, Pauline.

I’m sure glad Ralph Hall is coming back with us as he keeps my buddy from picking on me.

Our good friend Joyce Vermillion has been gone on another vacation. I’ll find out where all she’s been when she get back. I think she went to Canada this time. (I want a rock from there, Joyce.)

Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving? I sure did. My son Darius and his family came home from Alabama and spent the weekend with me. We had a good time together. We had Christmas while they were here as he and his family will be spending Christmas in Hawaii. They are leaving Alabama on Dec. 17 and will be back on Dec. 29. I told him I wanted to go if Hawaii could be moved to this side of the ocean, but I don’t think it can be done.

Joyce Vermillion bought us a beautiful Christmas tree from Lowe’s and we bought new decorations for it. Our tree sure is beautiful. Thanks, Joyce.

We appreciate all our seniors as whatever we need we all pitch in and get it. We bought new curtains for the dining room and kitchen.

Debbie Slone and the workers have hung their stockings hoping Santa will fill them. Joe Bentley, don’t you put a piece of coal in Debbie’s stocking.

Thursday, Jim Craft was going to put icing on my cake. (It was mayonnaise.)

You seniors, if you want to have a good time come to Ermine and be with us. We will welcome you and make you one of us.

Good gosh, Christmas is just around the corner. God bless until next time.
