Estel Harold Collins, 83, of Craft’s Colly, died November 27 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
A son of the late Thurston and Mattie Sergent Collins, he was a bother of the late Roy Collins, Lester Collins, Billy Collins, Thurston Collins Jr., Alberta Webb, and Lavetta Ann Combs.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene Bates Collins; three sons, Thomas R. Collins of Kingscreek, and Brian S. Collins and John A. Collins, both of Craft’s Colly; four daughters, Pat Morgan of Craft’s Colly, Estelle Slone and Lisa Littrell, both of Titusville, Fla., and Angela Wise of Wise, Va.; three brothers, Jesse Collins of Craft’s Colly, Windus Collins of Thornton, and Bobby Joe Collins of Berea; seven sisters, Pauline Bates and Marietta Spangler, both of Whitesburg, Gail Franklin of Culloden, W.Va., Ruth Isom of Kingdom Come, Virgie Holcomb, and RenaVae Sturgill, both of Dayton, Oh., and Norma Jean Adams of Craft’s Colly; a number of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Collins were held December 2 at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
