Hello from Kingscreek.
We are sure enjoying this beautiful weather. Everyone’s gardens are looking good.
The center is going strong right now. We had a 97th birthday party for Ethel Banks. Her granddaughterin law brought cake and cupcakes and she got plenty of presents.
Thank you, Vivian Banks, for the cake.
Those attending were Mae Boggs, Eulah Miller, Margie Sturgill, Brenda Fields and her daughter Missy, Genita Callahan, Faye Herron, Harold Day, Arnold Mullins, our two visitors from Blackey Center, and Bill Meade.
Now is the time to start practicing for the Senior Games. It is a real fun time for all of us. We are also planning a trip to Pine Mountain Settlement School. I’ve never been there and several of our ladies have said the same thing. We tend to overlook the things closest to home.
I would like to send a big hello to all our mountain friends who live away from us. Come visit the center when you come in for a vacation. We would love to see you.
I am attending a fundraiser for the cancer foundation. It will be at the County Cabin II with Benny Jones and CMT Country and Bluegrass Circle. Both are great bands.
If you haven’t been to a bluegrass show lately, try one of the local centers. Hemphill has music and so does Campbell’s Branch. You just might be pleasantly surprised. It is good, clean fun and very family oriented.
That’s about all for now. Time to get ready.
Take care of yourself and check in on a neighbor once in awhile.
Until next week, smile, it will make you beautiful.
