Eugene Day succumbs at 90



Eugene Day, 90, of Seymour, Ind., died December 25 at Covered Bridge Health Campus.

Born in Letcher County, he was a son of the late Loren and Mary Hampton Day, and the widower of Geneva Nezelene Maggard.

He was the father of the late Larry Day and Jennifer Day Froedge, and a brother of the late Otis Day, Marie Ingram and Katherine Pack.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he was retired from Cummins Engine Company after 35 year.

He was a minister at Valley Home Baptist Church, Brownstown.

Surviving are three sons, Roger E. Day, Teddy L. Day, and Robbin N. Day and wife, Lori; a son-inlaw,

Ronnie Froedge; 10 grandchildren, Tracy Day Vaughn, Rita Sujan, Daniel Day and wife Julie, Cindy Wright and husband Jeremy, Patti Terrell and husband Brian, Tommy Day and wife Riley, Loren Day, Monica Day, Todd Froedge and wife Alicia, and Tonya Ruf and husband Sam; 25 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter; four sisters, Pansy Whitaker, Irene Banks, Nadine Miller and Dottie Fields; and a brother Tommy Day and wife Patty.

Funeral services were held at Valley Home Baptist Church at Brownstown, Ind., on Dec. 28.

Burial was in Valley Home Memorial Cemetery in Brownstown.
