Fall from trampoline causes broken arm

Happy birthday to Billie Miller of Blackey. It was on Nov. 6.

Shilon Morton’s daughter Lynsey fell off of a trampoline and broke her arm. It was such a bad break she had to have surgery in Pikeville and was taken back Friday and had two pins and a steel rod put in. Her mom said she has been in a lot of pain. I hope she feels better soon. They live at Carcassonne.

Brittany and her daughter Karl of Dry Fork went to Lexington on Nov. 1 to the Miley Cyrus concert. They had a great time.

Happy anniversary to Jeremy and Nadine Hayes of Elk Creek. They celebrated their seventh on Nov. 2. They have three children, Courtney, Keelan and Cameron.

My neighbors Misty Henrikson and her son Layne were in an accident here on our mountain recently. Thankfully they weren’t hurt, but if it hadn’t been for some trees holding the car it would have flipped on over the mountain.

Alan Stump of Elk Creek wrecked a four-wheeler on Thursday somewhere near his home. He was flown out to another hospital. I heard it was his back or his neck. I haven’t heard anymore.

B.J., Shanna, Miss Em and Gavin Adams of Carcassonne went to see ‘Sesame Street Live’ on Saturday at the Pikeville Expo Center. The kids were really excited about and had a great time. Miss Em got to shake hands with some of the characters so that just made her day.

It’s wonderful the money and support Travis Morton has gotten from the people in Letcher County. So many people have given their time and money to help this family. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Happy birthday to Blake Madden of Crases Branch. He turned 4 on Nov. 8. He had his party on Saturday. He is the son of Tim and Donella Madden and has two older sisters, Summer and Autumn.

Congratulations to Stephanie Eldridge of Letcher on the birth of their first baby. Addison Paige Eldridge was born on Nov. 6 and weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce and was 17 inches long. The grandparents are Charles and Patty Pennington and Mike and Karen Eldridge, all of Elk Creek.

Shane Dixon of Woodrock has been in the Pikeville hospital since Halloween. He has meningitis. Shane is the son of Jina Back.

Happy birthday to Rhonda Combs of Jeremiah on Nov. 9, Erin Bingham Stump of Elk Creek on Nov. 12, and Reanna Caudill of Jeremiah on Nov. 13.

Joni Dixon and Lisa Hatton recently went to Indianapolis, Ind., to visit their friend Trina Sayman. The three of them spent a few days checking out western Indiana and eastern Illinois. They attended part of a two-week long celebration called The Covered Bridge Festival in Parke County, Ind. They especially enjoyed the Raccoon River and the falls near Mansfield. Lisa said the scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. Joni says if you’re ever near Brazil, Ind., check out a place called The Alabama for some good ol’ Southern rock!
