Fall is God’s coloring book

Big Cowan

Hello everyone! Fall is here. Just loving it.

I always think of fall as God’s coloring book with all the trees turning and all the different shades. He supplies them with just enough rain and enough sunshine that we can enjoy them all year long. Man is unable to do that. Even in the winter, they are beautiful with all the snow and ice.

I saw where the Whitesburg High School Class of ’69 had their 43rd class reunion at the VFW. Brought back lots of memories because I probably went to grade school with most of them because I went five years to Cowan and three years to Whitesburg before moving to Greensburg, Ind., where I was graduated from GCHS in the class of ’69.

Now most of us are ready to sign up for Social Security. Sorry to make you feel depressed, but, folks, we are getting old. LOL.

There are also our years of relaxing, retiring, spending time with family, and enjoying grandbabies — so it has its pros and cons of getting older.

Hope all enjoyed the reunion. I almost stopped in just to see how many I knew.

My father-in-law Roy ‘Shorty’ Fields would have been 94 on Oct. 1. He was a real sweet man and lived in Edmonton. R.I.P, Shorty. We love you.

Bobby ‘Bear’ Davis will be 55 on Oct. 4. Happy birthday. Glen Miles has a birthday sometime in October. So early happy birthday to him.

Bill Maggard Sr. and Agnes Maggard still have health issues. Keep them in prayer. Also on the prayer list are Janet Cooley, Audrey and Charles Hammonds, Mary Ann Maggard, Carla and Tony Maggard, Joe Maggard, Pat Mullins, Irene and Eugene Day, Archie Fields, and Tommy Tolliver. Keep everyone in prayer.

Hello to Odessa, Ruben and Ruby Lewis. Haven’t heard from them in awhile. Hope all is well.

Looks like the fall festival went well and I heard they were packed at the Aaron Tippin concert. Glad all had a great time.

My beautiful granddaughter Ashley Renee Fields turned 20 Sept. 30. Sounds like she had lots of fun with friends and family. Wish my husband and I had been there. Hopefully we will see all the granddaughters, Chad and Amber and friends in October. Now that it is cooled down I am ready to travel. LOL.

Well folks, I will hush for now until next time. Be good to yourself and one another. Attend the church of your choice. Pray for one another.

God bless!
