Family time is the best medicine for the soul

Cowan Creek

Hope everyone had a wonderful July 4. I know I sure was blessed.

On the Fourth, Fredrick, Tiffany, Collin and Conner Eversole came over to let the boys play at Riverside Park. They had inflatables by Mick Polly and the boys loved it.

They also had funnel cakes, face painting and shaved ice, along with other foods. Lots of talented people performed.

Sundy Best was the hit of the night and then the awesome fireworks. So very much appreciated. A free concert.

Saturday, Fredrick got to spend quality time with me and Ernie Ison and the Raven! We went four-wheeling and Frederick got to ride his new dirt bike.

Later he spent the night with me and we watched ‘Lone Survivor,’ a true story, and a great movie.

Tiffany and the boys are off to the beach and old Dad has to work.

Morgan, Byron and Carolina spent the weekend at Cherokee with Benny and Barbara Eldridge. Carolina came back with another tooth. She ate corn on the cob. She turned nine months old on the Fourth.

Sunday, Mike, Donna and Eli came over and sat on the porch and visited with us. So glad they had a wonderful time at Amelia Island in Florida this past week.

Sadie Clair Gilley celebrates her birthday on the 9th of July. She is a daughter of Jessica Wright of Neon and Dustin Gilley. Grandparents are Marion Gale Gilley and Diane of Cowan Creek, and Barry and Sherry Wright of Neon.

I sure hated my weekend to end. Family time is the best medicine for the soul and mind. I can say, “My cup runneth over.”

Also, happy birthday to Bryson, a son of Allison Smith. He turned five last Tuesday, the first. His grandma, Catherin Blair, had a birthday on Thursday, July 3. They are all from Jeremiah.

Happy birthday to all.

Micca Watts Gordon had a yard sale to raise money for her adoption and they were giving samples of alligator. Thanks to all who stopped and shopped.

As for the alligator, I think I will pass.

Have a good week. I am going too!
