Well, our family has had two weddings this past week. Ashley Renee Fields, daughter of Chad and Amber Fields and Diana Fields of Greensburg, Ind., granddaughter of Christine and James Fields of Cowan, and John Russell Simmons (son of Lisa Selvidge and the late Charlie Simmons), and the grandson of Johnny and Ann Collier, were married.
We hope they will be very happy together. They were married on Thursday, July 1, at 10:30 a.m., at the Freewill Baptist Church of Whitco, with Pastor Johnny Collier officiating. They are living in Whitesburg.
Juanita Fields and Marty Smith were married Friday, July 2, at their home on Cowan by Allen Whitaker. Congratulations to them. Their parents are Archie and Margaret Fields, and Lucille Collins and Delores Smith.
It looks like weddings are in the water. I’m glad it’s not me. One is enough, and sometimes too many.
Our family reunion was on Saturday, July 3, at Kingdom Come State Park. It was the Susan and Willie Fields reunion. I wasn’t able to make it this year as I had too much going on. I hope everyone had a good time. My granddaughter, Michaela, went with Archie and Margaret Fields and Emily McIntosh. Kids never seem to wear out, and don’t mind the heat either.
Wayne and Missy Fields and their family, and Juanita and Marty and their family all went camping over the weekend. I hope they all had fun.
With it being the Fourth of July, I am sure there were plenty of picnics, fireworks, swimming, and lots of stuff going on. I hope there weren’t a lot of car accidents or accidents with fireworks.
Belated happy birthday wishes to Amber Trent, July 4. I hope she had a good one. I hope you didn’t blow out too many fireworks thinking they were candles. Ha! Ha! I hope you had a great day.
Our prayers go out to Roger Fields, who has cancer. He lives in Texas. Also, our prayers go to Bobbie Miles Bowen and her husband, who were in an accident last week.
I hope all are doing better.
It was good talking to Sue Banks the other day. She had called to ask about Bobbie and her husband. I enjoyed the talk. We talked about bears and coyotes, and it was interesting.
My son Chad was down last Wednesday to spend the night. He had to leave Thursday. He just came in to sign papers for Ashley to get married.
Her mother, grandmother, and Ashley’s sisters Becca and Michaela were here for the wedding. All returned to Indiana, except Michaela, who will stay most of the summer.
All have a good week. Be good to one another. Thanks for your prayers. I am doing a little better.
Attend the church of your choice. I thought I had a lead on Sandra Jones, but it didn’t pan out, it was the wrong phone number. I got it from Liza Bates McCray of Hamilton, Ala., who was formerly from Whitesburg. She is Sandra’s aunt. Hopefully I will find her whereabouts soon.
Until next time, God bless each and every one.
