Films will be shown outside here Thursdays

Appalshop will present Films Under the Stars: Summer Screening Series at 9 p.m., every other Thursday evening from July 21 to September 1. The films will be shown on the Appalshop grounds at 91 Madison Avenue, Whitesburg. Those attending should bring a blanket or lawn chair. Ten Appalshop films from over the years that showcase the unique culture and stories of Letcher County, Kentucky and Appalachia will be shown. All events are free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted.
