Ramona Finchum and Robert and Regina Stivers spent the weekend with Bennett and Linda Combs. While they were here, they family celebrated Mother’s Day and Regina and Ramona’s birthday on May 18.
Yvonne Brown Sutphin on Lynchburg, Va., also had a birthday on May 16.
The Cowan Homemakers met at the community center on May 14. We were happy to have a new mem- ber, Pat Yinger.
Happy 27th wedding anniversary, Michael and Ramona Combs Finchum, on May 30. They have an 18-year-old son, Forrester, and a 15-year-old daughter, Callie.
Kathy LaMonte, her daughter Sarah and granddaughter Ava were on Cowan for a short visit. It is always good to see them. She plans to be back in June with more of her family for the Gibson family reunion.
John and Barbara Banks visited the Akers family in Morristown, Tenn. Callie sang with the County Chorus on Thursday and had her birthday party on Friday. They enjoyed being together.
The Little Cowan Primitive Baptist Church will have Bible School beginning Monday, May 27. Sessions will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Everyone is invited to attend.
The Little Cowan Church will be meeting at the Hop Gibson Cemetery this Sunday, May 26, at 11 a.m. for a memorial service. In case of rain, it will be held at the church. Dinner will be served at the church afterward. This is a tradition that has been going on for 90 years or more. Everyone is welcome. We would like to have representatives of all who are buried there. We looking forward to seeing you.
