No one was injured after fire swept through Bentley’s Drive-In in Fleming-Neon during the early morning hours on Tuesday, leaving it a total loss. The restaurant, which opened in September 2018, was on KY 343 in the Fleming section of town, next door to the Fleming-Neon Church of God and across the road from the old Boone Fork Senior Citizens Center. It once housed the Fleming Superette grocery. So far, there is no word on the cause of the fire. The photo at top was taken Tuesday afternoon by Mountain Eagle staff member Pam Walker. As the bottom two photos show, the building’s interior was already engulfed in flames and smoke when the Neon Volunteer Fire Department arrived. Neon firefighters were assisted by the Jenkins Fire Department. The bottom photos are provided courtesy of Robert Collins, who volunteers with the Neon department.
