Five Questions with Letcher County Central senior linebacker Kylar Sturgill:
Q: What are your expectations for the season?
A: To have a winning record and win the district championship again.
Q: What is it like playing for Coach Matthews?
A: He is here to win and pushes you to your limit every day to get better.
Q: Discuss the change to the 4-3 defense this year?
A: We as linebackers are not getting double teams as much. It also gives us more time to read and adjust to whatever run play the offense uses.
Q: What are your thoughts on this season’s senior class?
A: We have been together for a long time and are out to prove we are better than what people think.
Q: Discuss the linebacker unit and what you mean for the defense.
A: I think it is the best unit we have had since I have been here, with Avery Stamper roaming the middle and the speed of Tyler Isaac on the outside. We feel like we set the tone for the entire defense.
