One woman died Saturday in a house fire near downtown Neon.
Joyce Hill, whose age was not available, was found dead inside her burned home on North Abdoo Street late Saturday morning after the Neon Volunteer Fire Department was called to the blaze at the residence earlier in the day.
Hill’s body was sent to Frankfort for autopsy.
Letcher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements, which had not been made at press time.
The house was located on the hillside across from the old A&P food store building on Ky. 317. It was within sight of another home that burned in November on the same street. A woman was at home when that fire started as well, but was rescued by a volunteer firefighter who was passing by and saw smoke coming from the roof of the house.
