Florida vacationers find rain, cool weather

Northeast Ohio

Howdy, and how is everything with you and yours? Hope this finds all well and enjoying some sunshine. Sunshine? What’s that? We did have a bit on and off yesterday but today has been cloudy with a light drizzle now and again and there’s a rumor going around that we could maybe get some snow. Just what we need.

Georgia just lost another cousin. Sympathy and prayers to all the family and friends of Harold Dean Sparks. He died in Indiana where he and his family lived.

I haven’t heard from any of the Sanders family. I’m sure they are heartbroken and grieving. My love to all.

I talked to baby brother Ron. He and Johnell are both celebrating birthdays; his is March 31 and hers April 2. They are planning a trip to celebrate. Happy birthday to both, have fun and I love you!

I saw Georgia. She said Ricky and his group were leaving for home from Florida Saturday. From what she said this was not one of their best vacations. It rained practically every day and temperatures were below normal. Maybe next time will be better.

Richard and Georgia stopped by for awhile so I had a break in writing. I just hope I can remember what I’m supposed to be doing.

Red has talked to his brother, Charles, and his sister, Jean. Their only living aunt, Sarah Engle Pack, is in Pikeville Hospital on life support. I do hope she is doing OK. Red and I visited her at her home in Whitesburg about two years ago while we were down for the Engle family picnic. I really enjoyed the visit. Sarah is a year or so younger than Red. Our love and prayers are with her and her family.

Sunday was church time at Little Edna. We attended and Alex Collier from Pleasant View Church was there. It was the first time we had seen him in several months. We talked for sometime. He and I were both born at Millstone. He grew up and went to school there, but we moved to Indian Creek when I was very small but we knew a lot of the same people. My we visited her pretty often. Back then I could tell you who lived in just about every house around and on the way to Grandma’s house.

I want to wish the following a very happy April birthday: Johnell Sergent in Huntsville, Ala., on the second; Joyce Resor Sergent in Lorain on the 10th; Catharine Engle Taylor in Lorain on the 15th; Phillip Shortt in Pound, Va., on the 16th – me too; Valerie Engle in Lorain on the 17th; Jettie Quillen Sergent in North Ridgeville, Ohio, on the 17th; Milford Clark in Nova, Ohio, on the 18th; Beulah Bentley in Jackson, Ohio, on the 21st; Betty Wells in Means, Ky., and niece Kimberly Goins Brashears in McRoberts on the 26th.

I got behind and now Catharine is here. She worked an earlier shift today. Sorry about not having an article one week. It must have been pretty bad because Catharine sent it but it was returned. I’ve come to the conclusion that the Internet is not as reliable as it should or is supposed to be. Course anything or anyone can hit a rough patch now and again.

Well, y’all have a good week and think spring! Love and prayers!
