Hello everyone. What a beautiful day the Lord has made — let us rejoice and be glad in it. It has been a good week.
A late happy birthday to Shelby Bockover on Aug. 18. She lives in Greensburg, Ind. Her husband Bob would have had a birthday Aug. 31, and they would have been married 53 years on Sept. 5.
If any of you former Letcher Countians live close to her, she would love to hear from some of you. She is very lonely without Bob and would appreciate phone calls, letters, or just stop by and see her. She is formerly of Little Cowan.
Sorry to hear that Annelene Frazier Elkins died in Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Vera Frazier.
Also, Steve Fields, a cousin of my husband, died in Columbus, Ind. He was the son of the late Lonnie and Ruth Fields.
Late happy birthday to Joyce Wilson. Hopefully she had a good day on Sept. 6. Also Yvonne Pack Day had a birthday Sept. 8. Happy birthday to her.
Late happy anniversary to Kattie and Tim Dobson. They were married 28 years Sept. 9. Congratulations to them. Tim is the youngest son of Audrey and Charles Hammonds of North Vernon, Ind., and the late Roy Dobson.
My brother-in-law, Edward ‘Eddie’ Wolfe, will be 56 on Sept. 15. Happy birthday to him. We love you, Eddie and hope you have a good one.
Also, Glenda Helton has a birthday Sept. 15. Happy birthday, lady. I will catch up with you, Emma and Carolyn in November. As of now, I am the baby of the bunch.
Allysa Nicely will be six years old on Sept.17. She is the granddaughter of Wayne and Tammy Turner. Happy birthday, sweetie!
Also, Adron Michael Roberts will be four years old on Sept. 17. He is the grandson of Ruby Lewis. A very happy birthday to him.
Tommy Day of Brown County, Ind., would have been 65 on Sept. 18. Rest in peace, Tommy. You are missed.
Also, Willis King has a birthday, Sept. 18. I hope he enjoys his day even though his mother died last week. Her name was Mandy King and our sympathy goes out to the family.
Also having birthdays on Sept. 18 are Billy Ray Blair and Monica McIntosh. I hope you both have a great day, and I know Monica will be busy keeping up with two beautiful little girls.
Fred Boggs Jr. died a year ago on Sept. 18. He is dearly missed by daughter Debbie Pack and the rest of the family. Rest in peace, Fred.
Marvin Taylor Jr. has a birthday on Sept. 19. Happy birthday.
I was so glad to see Irene Day (my aunt) the other day. She walked out to my house for a little bit, but didn’t get to stay long. Emma had brought her some homemade chili. She said she loves Emma’s chili, so she went back home. Chili sounds good now that it is getting cooler outside.
My brother Archie got a good report at Pikeville and the skin grafting is healing well, thank God.
Prayer list this week: Agnes and Bill Maggard; Audrey and Charles Hammonds; Mary Ann, Carla and Tony Maggard and Destiny; Pat Mullins; Irene and Eugene Day; Odessa and Ruben Lewis; Marie Boyd; Chad and Amber Fields need prayer that their jobs will pick up. Cummins has really slowed down and they are hurting financially.
Well folks, I’ve got to get this going and get it turned in. All have a safe and happy week.
Attend the church of your choice and pray for someone this week. May God bless all of you.
Until next time, keep smiling!
