Funeral services for former Neon Chief of Police Donald Lee Haley, 69, will be held at noon Friday in Pound, Va. Burial will be in the Dewey Memorial Cemetery at Pound, Va.
Haley died September 15 at the Hospice Care Center in Hazard.
A son of the late Utah and Alice Horne Haley, he was the widower of Phyllis Mae Haley, and a brother of the late Charles Haley and Billy Ray Haley.
A coal miner and mechanic, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ginsenging.
Surviving are two daughters, Sabrina Haley and husband Dougie of Whitesburg, and Tabitha Johnson and husband David of Deane; a son, Donald Haley and wife Audrey of Mayking; David Elkins of Long Fork; three sisters, Vivian Sue Collins of Neon, Shirley Tidd and husband Buddy of Poke, Penn., and Teresa Yonts and husband Larry of Deane; a brother, Mike Haley of Tacoma, Wash.; eight grandchildren, Douglas Ryan Pendleton, Elizabeth Nicole Haley, Ashley Mae Haley, Dawton Lee Haley, Jesse James Haley, Christopher Lee Johnson, Shawn Jacob Johnson and Rachel Ann Elkins; and a great-grandchild, McKinlee Shane Quillen.
