Henry Gerald Frazier, 77, died June 17 at his home.
A son of the late Clyde and Carolyn Frazier, he was graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in education. He taught social studies and history for 33 years at Whitesburg High School. He taught summer school in addition to regular term, coached and served as a bus driver for 46 years. He retired from teaching and education services in 1995.
He loved the outdoors and had a green thumb whether it was in the garden growing vegetables, flowers in the years and he was especially proud of his apple trees.
Mr. Frazier enjoyed family times together — especially family reunions. He was well informed on his family genealogy and loved to share it with others .
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Myra.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Jackie Frazier; a daughter, Leslie Ann Burke and husband Rick of Neon; a son, Henry Bart Frazier and wife Stephanie of Pikeville; two grandsons, Jordan Ilic and Tyler Burke; a granddaughter, Kaitlyne Burke; a greatgranddaughter, Madison Grace; three brothers, Rokie Frazier and wife Joyce of Whitesburg, Doug Frazier and wife Janie of The Villages, Fla., and Sam Frazier and wife Jenny of Shelbyville; two sisters, Cheryl Webb and Marsha Howard and husband Hillard of The Villages, Fla.; neighbors Paxton and Peyton Hammonds; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 20, at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Fields family cemetery in Whitesburg. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Letcher Funeral Home.
