Mattie Magee, 93, died November 21.
She was the widow of James B. “Jim” Magee.
Mrs. Magee was a 1946 graduate of Bowling Green Business University (BU) and taught business at BU and Whitesburg High School.
Surviving are two children, James B. Magee, Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Barbara Magee and husband Michael Craig of Tucson, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Delanie S. Magee; a nephew, John Magee and wife Kathy; a niece, Patty Duras and husband Steve; and a number of Amburgey cousins.
Mrs. Magee inspired her family to see beyond her blindness because it was never her focus. Now her family pictures her dancing with their father in celebration of heaven’s wonders.
To Mrs. Magee’s large adopted family, her family extends deep thanks and gratitude for a lifetime of loving kindness, and says they love you beyond measure.

Funeral services for Mrs. Magee will be 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, November 25) at J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
