Four families welcome new babies

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and gave thanks to God for all his mercies. Our family was together and that was a blessing. Greg, Sharon, Amanda, Seth and Rylee came in on Wednesday night; Jason, Tina and Kyle came on Thursday; Randy, Jennifer, Jared and Ethan came in on Wednesday night to her parents’ home, Tommy and Billie Stansberry.

Melissa, Tyler, Dustin, Sierra and Tyler’s girlfriend were also at Tommy and Billie’s. I know they were happy to have all their family together.

Charlie and Wilma Holbrook of Shuller Branch had all theirs except Little John: Ron, Georgia, Sean, Danny, Joseph and Sean’s girlfriend, Johnny, Anita and Jessica Spicer, Greg and his family; Kathy and her family. Colson

On Thanksgiving we had our children and grands and Edsel, Carol, Kaylee, Janice, Coolie, Jimmy, Kathy, Brian, Nikki and Brooklynn visiting. The girls sure had a lot of fun and I think the boys did too. Carol says Kaylee talks more than I do. I never thought anyone could do that but she sure tries. She keeps us entertained and we love it.

I hope everyone found some good bargains on Black Friday. I stayed home but enjoyed the kids while their parents went shopping.

My sister Anita Redden is in the hospital in Beckley, W.Va. She is having problems with her heart but was doing some better. Also in the hospital are Landon Sexton and his sister Arlene. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Congratulations to proud parents Kevin and Courtney Baker who have a little brother for Isaiah. His name is Brenton Shade.

David and Tonya Short have another daughter, Raegan. Reece is a big sister now and I know they are thrilled.

Our neighbor Mary Meade has a great-granddaughter, Peyton Rain Bentley, born this week to Brandy and Mark.

Tex and Stacy Isaacs have a daughter, Samantha, and she is another cutie.

Congratulations to all and may you have a blessed life with these little angels.

I enjoyed a phone visit with Theresa Auk, the daughter of Floyd Meade Jr. She lives in Michigan but has many ties to Letcher County. She sent some pictures for our next book.

Jean Cook and I restocked the cabinets at the genealogy room at the library this week. We still have books on sale for the Christmas holiday and they do make wonderful gifts.

May you always remember the reason for the season. Say Merry Christmas to those you meet during this holiday and please don’t take Christ out of Christmas.
