Frank “Nub” Campbell, 85, died January 19 at his residence in Cornettsville.
A son of the late Finley and Suzanna Campbell, he was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Campbell; four sisters, Ordrie Campbell, Lydie Campbell, Bessie Carter, and Maggie Kilburn; and a brother, Evans Campbell.
Mr. Campbell played the banjo and loved bluegrass music, gardening, hunting, and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Josephine “Cat” Campbell; five children, Fred Campbell and wife Alice, Taffie McCool and husband Jay, Mary Ann Cottrell, Artemus Campbell and wife Darlene, and Tracy Campbell, all of Cornettsville; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a special sister-in-law, Brenda Wright; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held January 21 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was in the Hiram Campbell Cemetery at Cornettsville.
