We are now approved to accept EBT SNAP payments. Transportation is a barrier for some in the neighborhood. We have fresh veggies and fruits along with some staple foods. Our grocery section is small but folks can get cold salads and cold sandwiches and take pizza home to bake for themselves. Fresh bread and bakery items can be purchased also. Thanks for all your support and for shopping locally. We appreciate your business. If you have a special hard-to-find favorite you can order it from us. Call (971) 867-4337.
Valentine’s Day comes on Friday this year. The Country Troubadours will be playing the Friday Nite Supper Club. Please note Black Sheep Bakery will be offering dinner specials that evening. Every Friday night we offer salads, soups, and the finest pizza and calzones you could ever find. We make sandwiches on our sourdough bread and always have wonderful sweets and pastries. You won’t find better food or a better time anywhere for the money. Besides that, you and your sweetheart get great food and entertainment and at the same time the money you spend on food helps keep the Community Center up and running and helps local musicians too. Bring your sweetie or come around looking for one. You will be glad you did.
The Senior Fellowship is making a change. The Fellowship will continue to meet on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Seniors will be meeting for pastries and coffee, not a full meal. For more information, call (606) 671-7023.
There is a rumor that there is no longer music at Hemphill Community Center on Friday nights. There is indeed music each Friday night. Some of the very best pick for us each week. Come see for yourself on Friday at 7 p.m. Support your local musicians.

Friday Nite Supper Club: Featured musicians play two 45-minute sets starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9 p.m. and play a variety of genres. Aspiring musicians and veteran musicians are always welcome to show up and perform. There is a 30-minute break between sets and open mic players are always welcome to fill that time frame. It’s fun to play or listen. There is no cover charge so it’s a laidback, easy crowd to play for. Come join us in supporting local live music by local singer/picker/songwriters while dining on good Black Sheep Brick Oven Bakery foods. Dancing and singing along is encouraged.
We decided to place our unsold bread outside in coolers on Saturdays at noon for folks to take. It will be left on the outside stage until a more suitable arrangement can be made to dispense it. This preservative free bread is delicious. We hope folks come and take it on Saturdays. It will keep almost a week at room temperature. It will feed the belly and feed the soul. If you are hungry, show up early so you can get a loaf. We want you to have first pick.
