It sure is nice having some warmer weather for a change. This will help a little on the heating bills. This will just make people feel better too. We know that spring is just around the corner. I’ve not heard the frogs yet. That’s always a good sound.
Some people have their peas in the ground. Talk about some good eating. Peas and some butter, new potatoes, green onions and cornbread.
The seniors went to Hazard recently. They went to Walmart, Magic Mart, and stopped at Yoder’s. They had a good time, even though it was raining. They ate at Huddle House.
March 8 will be our potluck. The Kingscreek seniors are coming over to get with us. Someone is supposed to come from the Social Security office to talk to us. We will have plenty to eat, and I’m sure it will be a good time for all. Come out and join us if you can.
Peggy Sturgill, Marilyn Quillen and Marian Maggard have birthdays in March. Community Trust Bank always brings a pretty cake.
We seniors have it made. It is nice to have a senior citizens building to go to and get some good food and enjoy each other’s company.
Remember Jean Hampton in your prayers. She is real sick. Also, Columbus Sturgill is not well. The flu is going around and many people are sick.
They say that June Maggard is at home, and we’re glad for her. We never know when we can fall and get hurt. We don’t plan on it.
Remember Lenville and Marilyn Sumpter and Jean Hunsucker.
Well, that is about all for the Ovenfork Center. Try to stay warm and stay well.
