Funeral services for Clarence Dotson Jr., 91, were held January 26 at the People’s Fundamental Baptist Church of Dunham. Burial was in the Dotson Cemetery in Pound, Va.
A son of the late Clarence E. and Hattie Ellen Taylor Dotson, he was the widower of Allois Evanoff Dotson. He died January 22 at his home in Jenkins.
Mr. Dotson was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Pound Veterans of Foreign Wars #9600 and the Jenkins American Legion. He was also a 60-year Master Mason of Jenkins Lodge #856.
He was preceded in death by a son, Clarence Gregory Dotson; a great-grandson, Evan Edwards Carter; a brother, Cecil Alvis Dotson; a sister, Leatha Mae Branham Vinson; and an aunt, Pearl Taylor Baine.
Surviving are four daughters, LaDonna Motley and husband P.D. of Winchester, Toni Ann Carter and husband Victor of Frenchburg, Angela Gail Johnson and husband Arch of Booneville, and Jacqueline Maria Dotson of Jenkins; two double first cousins, Carlisle Taylor and Gary Taylor; nieces and nephews, Greta, Gilda and Michael Branham; 11 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.
