Funeral services will be held in Texas this week for Letcher County native Martha Marie Hall Strain, 80.
Mrs. Strain, of Needville, Texas, died Saturday night in Richmond, Texas. Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Davis-Grennlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, Texas. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Strain, who was born February 1, 1931 in Whitesburg to the late Adam and Alta Hall, is survived by sons James E. Strain Jr. and LeRoy Strain, and daughters Patricia Ann Oliva and Barbara Lynn Beier.
Also surviving are grandchildren Jessica Strain, Kylie Strain, Jennifer Perkins, Daniel Oliva, Rene Oliva, Christopher Gonzales and Ashley Gonzales; great-grandchildren Brianne Carothers and Brooke Carothers; sisters Sarah ‘Liz’ Bounds, Zola Robertson and Ann Lehmann; and brothers Larry ‘Otis’ Hall and Bradley Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Strain Sr., grandson Matthew James Strain, brother Ray Hall and sisters Geneva Hall and Rebecca Alderman.
