Funeral services for Charles Nicholson “Tiny” Litts, 84, of Wise, Va., were held July 15. Burial was in the Laurel Fork Cemetery at Mayking.
Born at Jenkins, he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Charmie Chapman Litts. He was the widower of Nancy Cooley Litts and was a brother of the late Ruby Markham, Janet Mullins, Raymond Litts, and Richard Litts. He died July 12.
Litts worked in the mining industry as a repairman and retired from Bethlehem Steel after 42 years. he was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and earlier in his life had been active in union affairs. He was a U.S. Army-Air Force veteran of World War II.
Surviving are two daughters, Charlene Johnson and husband Scott, Bean Station, Tenn., and Sharon Maggard and husband Jeff, Wise, Va.; four grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Chadwick Johnson, Shawn Maggard, and Melissa Cantrell; six great-grandchildren, Malee, Rachel, Hannah, Xander, Weslee, and Logan; and two sisters in-law, Thelma Litts, Jenkins and Martha Angel, Pikeville, Tenn.
