Peggy Jean Mason, 73, of Whitesburg, died April 15 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.
A daughter of the late Astor and Mildred Eva Quillen, she was the widow of Paul Mason.
Mrs. Mason was a member of the Neon First Church of God. She had worked in the Letcher County Court Clerk’s Office, the Cabinet for Human Resources Employment and Unemployment Divisions, the Caney Creek Rehabilitation Complex, and Kentucky River Community Care.
Surviving are two daughters, Lori Ann Kelly and husband James, Hazard, and Kimberly Carol Fletcher and husband Kevin, Safety Harbor, Fla.; grandchildren, Brett James Kelly, Sara Kate Fletcher, and Sean McPherson Fletcher; three sisters, Jane Anne Seta, Largo, Fla., Eva Carol Faas, Oldsmar, Fla.; and Jerilynn Graham and husband Merrell, Surgoinsville, Tenn.; and nephews and nieces, Kathi McClanahan and husband Patrick, Tony Little and wife Jennifer, Eva Christine Faas and Lester Shelburn, Debra Irvin and husband Allen, Jolen McCully and husband Matt, Kevin Lamb and wife Laura, Tabatha Graham and Tim Little.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Bobby Short; a brother, Joe Sherman Quillen; a sister, Rotoni Lee Smith; and a nephew, Joseph Graham.
Services were held April 29 at the Neon Church of God. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
Everidge Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Greg & Noreen Walls Hospice Care Center in Hazard.
