Connie Jean Cook, 78, died Tuesday, March 30, at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington.
A daughter of the late Preacher John Sexton and Minnie Sexton, she was the widow of Billy Ray Cook.
Mrs. Cook was also preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Ray Cook and Billy Wayne Sexton; three grandsons, Justin Sturgill, Cody Blair, and Isaiah Sturgill; four sisters, Nora Logan, Linda Sue Humphrey, Stella Burns and Reda Burns; and five brothers, Tro Sexton, Gene Sexton, Jerry Sexton, Larry Sexton and Kernal Dean Sexton.
Surviving are three daughters, Teresa Comley of Colson, Elaine and Jeff Adams of Premium, Shurleen Sexton, Marlene Hall, and Lisa Cook and Grayson, all of Little Colley; four brothers, Norman Sexton and wife Wilma of Low Gap Branch, Boliver Sexton and Jeanette of Little Colley, Oliver Sexton and Brenda, and Frances and Jan Sexton, all of Eolia; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cook were held April 3 at the Lighthouse Church. Burial was in the Colson Cemetery.
Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of arrangements.
