One good thing we have to look forward to is that spring is not far away.
The temperatures are going to be much warmer this week and I know people will be getting outside more and doing things. I am sure a lot of anglers will be thinking of fishing.
I am so over winter and cold weather I cannot stand it, and am so looking forward to warmer weather.
Most of our area lakes are ice covered and the water is very cold, but with sunny days and the temperatures in the high 60s it will not be long before we can start doing some fishing close around here. Also, you can go to the larger lakes where the lakes and fishing are not as effected by the colder weather.
On some of the larger lakes like Lake Cumberland and Dale Hollow Lake, they look forward to the cooler weather for some of the best fishing for fish like smallmouth bass and crappie. But I know most anglers are ready for warmer weather.
There are things you can do to help yourself when you get ready to take your first trip of the year, things like check your line on your reels to see if it needs changed and go through and sort out your tackle. All these things will help later. You can also clean and oil all your reels.
The most important thing to remember is thank God spring is very close.
