Gabby’s fishing fever

Linefork Creek offers good fishing

I am starting to see several anglers fishing in our area streams and rivers.

We are blessed to have some nice stream and river fishing in our area. I have seen some fisherman already wading the streams. Wading is by far my favorite way to fish a river, although I am sure the water has to still be a little cool.

My favorite time to wade fish is in the hottest dog days of summer, because the water feels so good when the air temperature is so hot.

Our local streams have a large variety of fish, such as smallmouth and largemouth bass, bluegill, red-eyes, crappie, trout, catfish and carp. Several streams have the Kentucky bass in them. I have caught several nice Kentucky bass below Blackey at Linefork.

The Linefork stream is one of the largest, coolest, and cleanest streams in our area and offers to me some of the best stream fishing in our area. I have fished this stream all my life and have always done well.

This is one type of fishing that anyone can do and is so much fun because you are right in the middle of the action by being in the water while fishing. You do not need any fancy fishing tackle and rods, as just a good old dependable rod and reel will do.

If you have never done this type of fishing you do not know what you are missing.
