Gabby’s fishing fever

Rains bring misery to fishermen

Hard rains caused many of our creeks to flow out of their banks last week, which in turn left many of our lakes muddy and nasty.

When situations like this happen, it is very hard to find and catch fish. Most fish will move to deeper and cleaner areas of the lake. The baitfish will too.

If you do go ahead and try to fish after a flood then try fishing deeper, slower and closer to some type of cover. These types of extreme weather have a very negative effect of summer time fish.

While most of the lakes, rivers and streams were looking somewhat better at press time, your best bet is to give them time to settle back down.
