Last weekend brought some nice weather for getting out and do something. We all went to the 2016 WYMT-TV Boat and RV show at the Expo Center in Pikeville.

I have been to every one of the shows and have always had a great time. This year was a good one and offered a few new things to see on the boats and campers. The big deal this year was the use of LED lighting on nearly every thing.

The top-of-the-line bass boats had LED black light strips all the way around the outside of the boat in the trim. This was very cool looking and will be great for night fishing with florescent line. It also gives the boat better nighttime illumination to be seen and to navigate by.

LED lighting was seen in nearly every camper, too — in both overhead lighting and accent lighting. There were more campers then I have ever seen at one of these shows, as you could walk through, check out and sit in what seemed to be every style of camper made.

Also on display were several pontoon boats. The fish and wildlife folks had the trout tank for the kids as they always do. There was a little of something for everybody at this show I look forward to visiting every year.
