Gabby’s fishing fever

No fancy tackle is needed for bluegill

I have gotten to do a lot of bluegill fishing the past few weeks. The fishing has been pretty good.

Bluegill are coming off the nest on most lakes and are hungry and ready to feed. This makes them one of the most active fish in the lake.

What makes the bluegill so great to fish for is that they are always fairly active and easy to find and catch. This has made them a very popular fish for fisherman of all ages.

No fancy or expensive rod and reels or tackle is needed to catch them. As for bait, any type of worm or cricket will work. And some small lures are made for the bigger size bluegill.

We are blessed to have some good bluegill fishing in our area lakes. Some of the largest bluegill I have caught in this area was in farm ponds. Bluegill weighing more than a pound is normal, but in some waters bluegill much larger have been caught.
