The first day of fall arrived earlier this week and it sure feels like it in the air. Myself, I love this time of year and the milder temperatures.
So far with everything that has been going on this year it is nice to see a beautiful start to the fall fishing season. The weather has been very nice and hopefully it will stay that way for a while.
During this time of year the fishing typically gets better as the fish will be more active longer and move around. Myself I always look forward to fishing this time of year all the way up until early winter. Most all of the different species of fish will become more active as the temps fall. I plan on doing a lot of fishing with my family this fall.
I enjoy fishing even up into early winter for fish like the small and largemouth bass and for crappie. All these fish become more active in cooler water. I would have to say over my many years of fishing that fall and early winter are my favorite and most productive times.
During cooler times of the year most fish will move and feed much more shallow and on the surface. This makes this a perfect time to get out and do some top water fishing. Baits like buzz baits and top waters work really well on bass and musky. These baits can bring an explosive strike when fished in the right areas. Crank baits and spinner baits also work very well for feeding bass.
I was by Carr Creek Lake this week and it looked real good. So get out soon and kick off your early fall fishing.
