I hope everyone had a good week. There was lots of sunshine and rain. Some people’s gardens are getting washed out, and they have to replant when it quits raining. Then it will probably get hot. I wish it would stay in the 60s and 70s all year long.

Sorry to hear about Billie Ann Gilley dying. My sympathy goes out to her family. Her son, Marion Gale, is married to my cousin, Diana.

Also, I heard that Gay O’Neal Ison had died in Indiana. He is formerly of Cowan, the son of the late John S. and Virgie Gilley Ison and a brother of Deolia Day.

My brother and sisterin law, Archie and Margaret Fields, brought me some rosebushes and buttercup bushes, and they even planted them for me. That was very kind of them, and very much appreciated. I told them I was too citified, and they laughed.

Wayne, Missy, Tonya and Lexi Fields, Juanita Fields, Marty Smith, Emily McIntosh and Marty Fields, and Deidra and Sammie Gibson all went camping over the weekend, I hope they didn’t get rained out.

I am not sure if Kim and Roger Hoskins and Dasia Fields and Jasmine Ambrose went along or not. I hope they had a good time in spite of the weather.

I never was much of an outdoors person, but a lot of people are, and I envy them. I never could sleep in tents as mosquitoes eat me up. It would be easier now with campers, vans, etc., so more power to those who enjoy that.

I saw in last week’s paper that six-year-old Lexi Fields caught her first fish. I was excited for her. I guess the bad weather didn’t stop her.

We went to Lexington last week to meet her halfway of coming back from Indiana. We had breakfast at the Cracker Barrel with my husband James and me, our granddaughter, Ashley, her mom, Diana, and her mom, Donna, and Donna’s sister, Joann, and one-year-old Jacob Cole.

We all had a good time, and they want to see the mountains this summer. Donna and Joanna have never been here, and they want to see the mountains and all of their beauty.

Some of the June birthdays are: Madison of Danville, June 3, eight years old; Judy Fields of Cowan, June 30; Ann Collier of Whitesburg, June 24; John Simmonds of Whitesburg, June 11, will be 20 years old; Marty Smith of Cowan, June 14, will be 39 years old. I hope all have a good one and enjoy your day.

We would like to wish the following a happy anniversary: June 3, Leroy and Joann Fields of Johnson’s Fork; June 10, Herb and Linda Fields of UZ; June 12, Roger and Debbie Eldridge of UZ. I hope all or you many more years of happiness, and may God bless and keep you.

Well folks, until next time, may God bless each and every one. Attend the church of your choice.
