Gasoline costs more in West Virginia than it does anywhere else in region


If you have to travel in West Virginia, be sure to fill up with gas before you get there.

According to AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the Mountain State average for a gallon of regular gas spiked to a record of $3.66 Monday as oil prices hit nearly $120 a barrel. The national average of $3.60 per gallon for regular gas is also a record.

West Virginia’s average remains higher than any of its neighboring states. Virginia’s price for a gallon of regular is $3.50, Ohio’s is $3.53, Kentucky’s $3.57, Maryland’s $3.58 and Pennsylvania’s $3.61.
