Gattons attend the Eolia school reunion

Cowan

Verna Rayburn recently painted a mural for her friend, Nelda Harlowe. It took Rayburn about 20 hours to complete the acrylic painting of a tree on a wall in Harlowe’s laundry room. Pictured are Rayburn and Harlowe.

Joe Myrel and Linda Brown of Forest, Miss., have been on Cowan this week visiting Virginia and Randy. They have had a busy summer raising a big garden and putting it up. They also got a lot of work done while they were here. We really enjoyed having them.

Joe, his son Josh, and daughter-in-law Kim, had been to Austin, Texas for the wedding of his other son, Jacob, and his bride April. It was a nice wedding outside under the mesquite trees.

While in Austin, Joe stayed with his daughter, Sarah Beth Brown. Sarah Beth had been on an eightstate tour with her band, “Boy Friend.” She plans to resume her education to become a veterinarian.

Laura Bates and Stepha- nie Little visited Linda Lucas Friday afternoon. They were classmates of her daughter, Beth, at Cowan Elementary. Linda enjoyed their visit very much. The girls have done well.

Laura is an ultra-sonogram technician, and Stephanie is working in Italy. Beth is a nurse in North Carolina. They have done Cowan School proud.

Christine and Bob Gatton visited us and others while they were in for the Eolia school reunion. They had a great time reconnecting and visiting with former students and friends. They also attended church at Little Cowan on Sunday.

Robert and Sherry Brown, Brad and Joe, came from Tennessee for church and to visit their granny. We had a good time Sunday afternoon with them and Verna, Linda, Carol and Anna.

After church Sunday, we celebrated Pastor John Banks’s birthday with dinner and a birthday cake. We were glad his daughter Tori, and Rusty Akers, Callie and Ella, from Tennessee, were there.
