Georgia Starry dies at 74

Georgia Bentley Starry, 74, died August 9 at her home in Alexandria, Va.

Born in Neon to the late Nannie and Elijah Bentley, she was a sister of the late Ira Arthur Bentley and Henry T. Bentley.

She was graduated from Fleming-Neon High School, and had worked for Barry Goldwater’s law firm in Washington, D.C.

Surviving are her husband, Roy T. “Jack” Starry; two sisters, Wanda Fay Norwood and Ilene Shivery; a brother, Elijah Bentley, Jr. and wife Betti; three stepchildren, Melissa Breen, Christine Souders and Jack T. Starry; three nieces, Rita Norwood Harrison, Jessie Bentley and Suzanah Cain; a nephew, Jonathan C. Bentley; six step-grandchildren, David, Christopher, Jessica, Kenny, Kyle and J. T.; and 12 great-nieces and great-nephews, Angela, Matthew, Sarah, Heather, Carrie, William, Vanessa, Ana, Kyra, Christian, Gracie and Jack.

Funeral services were held August 15.
