Gilleys celebrate anniversary

Virgil Combs of Carcassonne was taken to Central Baptist in Lexington a few weeks ago for a heart cath but he didn’t have to have any stents and was able to come home the next day.

Hurbert Eldridge will be taking care of the Pearl Dixon Cemetery again this year. He has taken care of this cemetery for years and has done a good job. Happy anniversary to Bruce and Rita Gilley of Letcher. It was theirs on May 15.

Happy birthday to Brandy Caudill. It was on May 16. She is the daughter of Greg and Della Caudill of Carcassonne.

Happy birthday to Holly Bates of Ulvah. It was on May 26. Michelle Miller of Blackey also had one on the 26th.

John Pascal Dixon of Carcassonne turned 12 on May 20. He is the son of Jon and Jenny Dixon.

Leslie Gibson of Hazard has one on June 1.

Congratulations to James and Stephanie Johnson of Whitesburg on the birth of their first baby. Autumn Leigh Johnson was born on May 19. She weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces and was 21 inches long. The grandparents are Mrs. Johnson of Jeremiah and the late Sidney Johnson, and Jr. and Ola Adams of Whitesburg. Blackey

My sympathy to all the family of Kirby ‘Cookie’ Caudill of Woodrock. He died on Friday May 27. He was the son of Fred and Louise Caudill of Carcassonne. Sympathy to his wife Madge and family. I’m so sorry for their loss. Kirby was 43.

Happy birthday to my mother Jean Blair of Elk Creek. It was on May 28, and to our cousin J.P. Campbell of Ulvah. It was also on the 28th. Donna Bates of Blackey and Codi Ratliff each also had one on the 28th.

My sympathy to the family of Herman Smith of Blair Branch. He died Saturday, May 28. He had been sick for awhile. One of his brothers, Ray Smith, is my neighbor.
