We were glad to be able to have church Sunday, and we had a good meeting.
We were happy and honored to have Michael and Kendra Campbell there. They are visiting his dad John and Faye Campbell. Michael is an airborne paratrooper in the Army. He has recently returned from Italy and before that he was in Afghanistan. He is now stationed in Ft. Bragg, N.C.
Rusty, Tori, Callie and Ella Akers of Tolbat, Tenn., visited John and Barbara Banks of Cowan, last weekend. The girls came to Cowan to sleighride at their Uncle Clayton’s house. They had breakfast Sunday morning with Russell and Ann Akers of Kingscreek.
Linda Lucas recently returned to Cowan after a holiday visit with the Callahans of Advance, N.C. On the way home she spent the week with Jon Lucas and family in Kingsport, Tenn.
Mason had tubes put in his ears for the third time. He is doing fine.
Linda would like to thank Carol and J. T. Caudill for housesitting while she was away.
Ella Preston had Bible study at her home last week. She served a wonderful supper that was enjoyed by all who attended. J.T. Caudill celebrated his birthday that evening, and the group sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to him.
Elsie says she is feeling fine, but she’s wishing for spring to come so she can get out.
