Governor picks Brown for PVA post

Gov. Matt Bevin has selected Richard Brown of Dry Fork to serve the remaining two years of the unexpired term of late Letcher County Property Valuation Administrator Randy Hall.

Brown, who will assume duties on February 1, was one of seven county residents who qualified for the job by passing a special examination.

A longtime employee of Crawford Engineering of Whitesburg, Brown was also a Republican candidate for the District One magistrate’s seat now held by Bobby Howard.
