Jamala Renee Pelfrey was graduated magna cum laude from the Department of Science and Technology at Morehead State University in May. Her bachelor of science degree is in the field of secondary mathematics education with a minor in environmental studies. She hopes to become a teacher in the Whitesburg area. She is the daughter of Nancy Trent of Whitesburg, and James Pelfrey of Pound, Va.
