Chase Adams, 23, of Whitesburg, was graduated May 10 from the University of Kentucky College of Engineering with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and a minor in mathematics. He also received first place in UK’s Senior Design Contest, a yearlong project to design and build a low-cost control system for a photobioreactor for the Center for Applied Energy Research. The project design was sold to the University of Delaware. For Adams’s accomplishment, a brick will be engraved with his name and placed in the College of Engineering courtyard. Adams is the son of Anthony and Lisa Adams of Whitesburg. His sister, Amber Carter, and niece Teagun Carter, 4, (pictured) of Whitesburg, also attended the graduation ceremony.
