Grandkids are fun but tiring

Southern Ohio

Hello Once again!

Better hold onto your hats and tuck your dresstails between your legs as August is sure flying fast! You may get sucked up in the whirlwind.

We sure have been having some beautiful weather here in the Ohio Valley area.

I really had a busy week as I kept my little five-yearold sidekick Bennie Wiederhold a couple of days.

Thursday morning, I picked up my three granddaughters, Sarah, Jessica and Katelyn Nottingham, then on to my daughter Angie Wiederhold’s to pick up Bennie, then to Rising Sun, Ind., to spend the afternoon in the park by the river.

Little Bennie must think I am a kid as he wants me to go down the slide with him, and crawl through the small tunnels on the playsets, which I usually do.

Katelyn is eight years old. While we were in the car, Katelyn told me she loved me, and she had the best Momma and I was so much fun because I played with them.

While driving through the beautiful town of Rising Sun, I somehow drove the wrong way down a one-way street, and to beat it all a policeman was sitting outside having lunch! The policeman yelled, “Hey M’am, you’re going the wrong way.” I was at the end of the street. I am surprised I didn’t get a ticket.

I have driven on certain streets, and didn’t know there was a one-way street in Rising Sun. Actually, I don’t even remember the name of the street I was on.

I will say one thing, keeping up with four grandchildren doesn’t help your looks any as my hair was a mess since I had been on the swings with the girls and pushing Bennie.

Thursday night, Jessica and Katelyn spent the night with me and spent the entire day with me Friday. When I took them home Friday evening, I was worn out. My daughter Anna Nottingham wanted me to stay for supper as they were having pizza.

Anna and Scott are still talking about moving to Cape Coral, Fla. When and if they do, it will break my heart.

Saturday evening I stayed home and enjoyed not going out.
