Grandsons do much better at Sportsplex than grandmother

Colson seniors had an enjoyable week. They went to Norton to the flea market, stopped at some yard sales, ate at Kentucky Fried Chicken and the Seco Winery. Opal really enjoyed the winery.

Our center will be playing bingo on Mondays and Rook on Fridays.

Birthday wishes to Eddie Logan and Eula Short. Jerry Lucas really enjoyed his cake and ice cream.

Edsel and Carol Baker enjoyed a visit with Aunt Eva Sergent and her niece and nephew. Aunt Eva is always a joy to be around.

Jared and Ethan Isaacs, my grandsons, have been visiting. They spent the weekend with their mamma, Billie Stansberry. My nephew, Keith Baker, and Chasity took her cousin, C.J., and Jared and Ethan to Carr Creek Lake for a day of boating, fishing, and swimming. The boys will be talking about that day for a long time.

I took the boys to Knott County to the Sportsplex. Ethan, who is 5, walked the track at least 20 times. Jared enjoyed the arcade. He is 8. The ski machine really did a number on me. I was so sore the next day.

Thursday the Mountain Mamas Red Hatters went to Barter Theatre for Red Hat Day. We saw the musical “Evita”. There were 48 groups there. Going from Letcher County were Irene Smith, Sally Caudill, Ann Bradley, Marsha Banks, Mary Gilliam, Jean Cook, Ann Reynolds, Lois Shortt, Earlene Williams, Liz Lee, Mary Day, Freida McFall, and me.

Sympathy to the families of Charles Ted Baker, Belvia Adams Mullins, and Orbin Thomas.

Welcome to a new worker at our center, Danny Gibson. He is a good worker.

Velma Trivette and Odell Stewart are two great ladies that we enjoy seeing at the center.

May God bless each of you. Pray for all the ones in our neighborhood who are sick and needing prayers.
